2 good sleeps and an ankylosing spondylitis friendly feast

SI Pain: 0/100 | Rib Pain: 5/100 | Concrete Back: 50/100

I woke up today feeling pretty good.

I’ve had two good night’s sleep now which is great.

I took reishi again this morning and it doesn’t feel like it’s causing me too many problems at the moment. I wouldn’t say I am 100% with it yet. I think it’s definitely worth giving it a full week of testing to see how it goes.

The thing I really noticed today, and this morning in particular, is how much my brain was fizzing with ideas.

I feel like I could write reams of content on lots of different subjects. The brain just seems to be making lots of different connections.

It’s great when you feel like that (especially given how rare this was in the fog of ankylosing spondylitis exhaustion before I started treating it). It feels like I’m enjoying that ‘flow’ state.

I went for a long walk today and on the way home picked up some goat’s yoghurt, venison steaks, smoked salmon and a few other things.

This diet can be ridiculously expensive at times and I need to find a way to keep on top of things because I’ve spent a lot of money recently.

When I got home with all the shopping, I cooked up a storm. Venison steaks for a minute on a high heat on each side and another further 5 or 6 minutes in total. This seemed about right but they maybe could have done with a little bit longer. I also chopped up a whole punnet of button mushrooms and made some konjac noodles with tapenade.

I had this with the venison and it was really quite a feast.

I am writing a really boring diary entry here but basically I ate way too much food, thoroughly enjoyed it and then I had a chocolate almond flour cookie for pudding which was delicious.

Today was the day where I ticked a load of stuff off my list that I had been putting off and that felt good too.

💡 Mini Findings

• Brain seems to be happier and more focused on the diet

• Need to budget better on food (the AS diet can get expensive)
