Feels like I have a tennis ball sized lump above my pelvis

May 27, 2021 | Diary | 0 comments

I woke up feeling ok, pretty much the same as yesterday maybe a slash better.

I did wake up a couple of times in the night but still I’m getting so much better sleep than I was a few months ago so I’m really very happy overall.

I did find myself having to change sides in the night though when I did wake up.

It’s that aching thing that makes it hard to lie on your back and then also on your sides but at least it’s every few hours now rather than every 20 minutes.

It was cold at one point so having the little heated mat thing there was fantastic because it helps me go back to sleep.

When I woke up I felt quite stiff and I noticed there was a bit of a pain in my right pelvis but it wasn’t as strong as yesterday so I would say it was maybe a 3 out of 10.

Walking to the shower and having shower with fine and improved me a huge amount probably down to a 2 out of 10.

I then went downstairs and had a smoothie.

I think it was plums and peaches and with loads of dairy.

I don’t actually think dairy is one of my main trigger foods I do think it is the starch so I was more anxious to know whether there is starch in peaches or plums because they are quite thick, meaty looking fruits.

So far so good though and I haven’t seemed to have any adverse effects.

I got an email from Herman miller saying that the chair has left their warehouse and they are going to get in touch with me soon about a delivery date so I’m extremely excited about that.

My back really isn’t feeling great but at the same time I’m it’s not causing me dramatic pain. It’s more that it feels like there’s a solid lump above my right pelvis that I can feel with every footstep.

It’s annoying more than anything else so I would rate it about a 2 or a 3 out of 10.

I do feel quite stiff as well but that is dissipating and it’s more this solid little block which almost feels like it would be the size of a tennis ball above my pelvis that feels problematic.

I’ve also been having really horrible coughing fits this morning and I’m absolutely praying that this is to do with the massive amounts of yoghurt I’m having in the morning.

I know mum took me off dairy when I was very young and I kind of naturally went off it myself in latter years. I’m wondering whether this rapid change in dairy consumption is causing the cough or whether it’s the ankylosing spondylitis.

It’s an absolutely beautiful day at the moment and I went out for a walk. As the sun has got hotter this is had a beneficial effect on my back and actually right now maybe one hour into the walk I’m not feeling that horrible tennis ball lump above my pelvis.

I don’t know how my mood is today but I can’t remember a feeling of ever been cleared from this thing and that is making me feel a bit down.

I think it’s important to read some of these diary entries if I ever, or when I do get clear of this on my diet, which I will. Hopefully that will encourage me to keep on with it.

Kat and I had a heart to heart at dinner. We talked about the ankylosing spondylitis and how I felt really alone with it.

I did my exercises on YouTube after dinner and this time it felt a little bit painful. I was feeling twinges in my ribs which was a bit worrying.

Hope I’m not going to regret that tomorrow.
