There is no rheumatoid factor in my blood

May 7, 2021 | Diary | 0 comments

It’s been a really weird day today.

I woke up to the alarm feeling tired but otherwise ok.

My back is feeling good again and pain to the lower right of my pelvis feels like it’s almost gone to be honest.

It’s hard to know whether this is just a normal respite or the diet working. There have often been gaps between episodes of flares in the past.

I really want to think it’s mainly the diet because I’m also sleeping better and I have more energy. I also just feel a bit lighter than I normally do.

I think I was saying the other day that I couldn’t even imagine running with my back problem but at the moment I really can visualise it.

It’s a definite improvement on yesterday even.

I didn’t have time to have breakfast because I was running late and I had to meet a friend at 9:30.

I finally had my follow-up with the GP which was good but it was also a bit of a waste of time in a way.

It felt a little bit like we were starting from scratch again and having to go over old ground.

She was very friendly and upbeat though which was nice went over my results.

Basically she said all the same stuff about my blood that the nurse. She said she also wants me to book in another blood check up for a couple of weeks time, which I did after the call.

One interesting finding. The rheumatoid factor in the blood came back as negative.

However, the specific test for the ankylosing spondylitis marker hasn’t arrived back from the labs yet so we will have to wait and see.
